...and leave all this?!?!?

I had a staff meeting yesterday, and the topic of working from home 1 or 2 days a week came up. Well, I nearly fell off my comfy conference room chair with excitement. Could it be possible that the company would let me sit in my PJ's and create data spreadsheets while periodical kissing the cutest baby in the world? What could I have done to deserve such a gift?

hmmm.....and what's the catch!?!?!

Well, I haven't actually talked to my supervisor about it, but my director was in favor of it.......so *shrug* seems like a no brainer.

I did think about it a little, and it would be a tremendously long day. In order to get all my work done and watch the baby, I would have to start earlier and work later. But did I mention working in my PJ's??

I mean, which would YOU prefer?

....or....

Not fragile...

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the
1930's 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's !!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when werode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.
As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and

NO ONE actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank koolade made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because . .

WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.

No one was able to reach us all day.

And we were O.K.We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride downthe hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or chat rooms..........
WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were nolawsuits from these accidents.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rangthe bell, or just walked in and talked to them!

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of.

They actually sided with the law!

These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned

HOW TODEAL WITH IT ALL!

If YOU are one of them . . . CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up askids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good.

Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!

No Count Chocula yet....

Today Althea had her first taste of something OTHER than formula/breastmilk. I was happy for her, cause that formula...is nasty!

This looks like farina! ummm yea.....it doesn't taste like farina...it tastes just as nasty as formula. Although she doesn't know any better, and didn't seem to mind.

OMG she's getting big!!!

Merry Christmas to US!

Today Althea is 3 months old. This Christmas, Althea gave Mike and I the best Christmas present either of us could ask for!!!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
She started sleeping through the night!!!
Consistently for the past 2 weeks!!! YAY!!! Image hosted by Photobucket.com

From what I hear, as long as you got at least 4 days in a row your good. So I figured 2 weeks and it's more than safe to say it out loud.

She has changed so much in the past few weeks. Yes she does cry occationaly, but it's rare.....but for those of you who don't believe me, here is the picture you wanted...

Most of the time she is quite happy. She waves her arms and legs and laughes and squeals at mostly everything.

She wants to sit up so badly! She is constantly doing "crunches" to attempt to pull herself up, and gets very frustrated when you don't lift her to a sitting position immediatly! She can't do it alone yet, without some help...but she's trying!

She basically slept through Christmas eve, despite Mike's attempt to wake her up during the insanity of opening presents at my mother's house. And, if she can sleep through the craziness of present opening at my mother's house on Christmas eve....then I could pretty much blow air horns in her room at night, and she won't flinch!

On Christmas day, Aunt Dawn showed up with the cutest pony! She loves it! She wants to be able to sit on it....but for now we just sit next to it, and press it's ear and listen to it whinney and gallop. She giggles everytime.

However, despite all the wonderful presents that everyone bought her....including Mike and I...this piece of green tissue paper was her favorite present. I should have saved my money, and instructed everyone else to as well. A variety of colorfull tissue paper would have done fine...and could have been picked up at the dollar store! However, I enjoyed all the cute outfits...and can't wait to dress her up and take her picture in them all! Speaking of.....

Anything with ears is freakin adorable!

And..............
........this cute t-shirt that "uncle joey" made for her....Now that I know he can make baby t-shirts with whatever sayings he wants on them....hahahahah we're in trouble.

AND I'm open for suggestions!!!
